Oh, Genie...

My daughter has been gone at her bio-dad's for her six week summer visit. I have been miserable without her. I know it'll get better being apart from her once Dan is finally out here, but I hate being separated from her for so long. I can't wait for her to come home on Sunday.

I was fortunate enough to talk to her this morning. She babbled on about how she wanted to come home now and that she wanted to talk to Mama (my step mom) and play with the puppies. I remembered I was looking at Halloween costumes last night and decided to ask her what she wanted to be this year.
"Genie, who do you want to be for Halloween?"
"Um, I just want to be Cinderella, I like her. I was Cinderella last year, so I should dress up as Snow White. Can you get me Snow White dress?"
"Baby, you were Sleeping Beauty last year. You can be Cinderella."

At this point I realized that she didn't mention anything about her favorite princess of all, Ariel.

"Baby, what about Ariel? Isn't she your favorite?"
"Yes."
"You don't want to be Ariel for Halloween?"
"No, mommy."
"Why not?"
"I can't walk anymore when I have a tail. That's why I can't be Ariel because then I won't walk anymore. I'll just have to sit on a rock all the time."

From the mouths of babes, I tell ya.

Awww, too cute! I'm glad she'll be home on Sunday! =)

So sweet. Yay, so glad she's coming home.

They say the cuttest things!

She is adorable! Welcome home, Genie! :-D

I. Know. Ariel.
Personally.
She's actually a good friend of mine! My friend, Sue, used to play Ariel at Disney World a few years back. And yes, she had to sit on a rock the whole time!

She makes a valid point... How cute is she?!?! :)

Kids are soooo much more observant than we are!! I would never have thought about that - would you? Too cute picture!
